Have you seen what Rangers (one of two football teams from Glasgow) have done to Manchester, my home town? I saw this picture, which was taken after the riots they (Rangers fans) caused when a large-screen TV in Manchester town square broke. Fucking yobs. I suddenly got a massive pang of homesickness, and also anger that tourists can be so inconsiderate, then I remembered that most English people, let alone football fans are like that when we go abroad. Is it any wonder I hate football, fucking football.

Honestly... why is it no one else is like that -- just footballers?
You don't see people getting (quite as) uppity because their favourite cricket team lost or because Henman was knocked out of Wimbledon... it's just a game, get over yourselves!!

Bah, I'm going to bed before I work myself up more. :)
At least my computer is all nice and fonted up now (see latest post) -- there's a nice IPA one on that website called Stone Phonetic IPA, I think, if you're interested.

Haha, oh god, I totally agree. Morons. I checked out the fonts too, ironic that it is a Turkish website :-) but most of the links were just taking me into other websites, so I didn't get to browse many fonts.

And, to reiterate, you are right. It is just football fans. I can't imagine us starting riots over losing Eurovision.

Haha, I think people care more about Eurovision on the Continent than we do over here... hence all the "democratic voting" or whatever it's called.

This was a fairly moderate one, and we're all used to it. It just annoyed me it was in my hometown when I'm not there. It has worsened peoples view of Rangers fans anyway.

What a mess. It's sad that people would do things like that, especially in someone else's city/country. I feel sorry for everyone who has to clean all that up.

Reminds me of one of the state universities in Michigan. They have a bad habit of rioting no matter how their teams do (win, lose, or draw). They commonly get lots of people arrested, tear gassed, and they tend to flip multiple vehicles. It's not reassuring.

All these commotions over football. I find it thoroughly ridiculous. What annoys me more is how some footballers are paid like £450,000 a week, which is more than most people earn in eight years. We have a lack of doctors, nurses, policemen and firemen, yet footballers are paid this much. Uggggh *actually screams* I HATE IT SO FUCKING MUCH!

What gets me is that's why they play it; back in the 1800s (when men had moustaches and hair that didn't need protecting from the wind every two seconds) people used to play the game for the love of it, not the £450,000 per week. Because of that, now our "England" team is full of people who aren't actually English; they've all been bought in from elsewhere...

"The Beautiful Game"? Something of an overstatement.

That's kinda like us and "American Football." Though our players are brought in from other states, not other countries. And they make obscenely large amounts of money that should be going elsewhere. And hockey... Half of our players are from Russia and Finland. Not that there's anything wrong with the Finns and Russians, but it's the "National Hockey League", not the "International Hockey League". *cries a little*

It's very sad that pro athletes make more than all but the top executives of the Fortune 500 companies. And maybe even more than some of them.

They could be using that money for such better things. It's a waste. Athletes are more or less entertainers. They keep our attention, and give us something to watch and talk about. It's important to have some form of distraction from life, but I'd say things like doctors and teachers are a little more important. *sigh*

my very first girlfriend was a football fan, my last girlfried was a football fan, the man i loved was a basketball player etc etc. they all were addicted at sportsmen, while i just could make the ball be lying in our.. fuck i forgot the word - the thing consisting of web and iron sticks that is used in football for keeping a ball after goal has been made, and everyone shout with joy when the ball is there.
