I'm spamming now. I am well aware. But I am home alone. Matt is at home doing his photography project shooting, James is at home seeing his mum for like the second time since Christmas, and Nikki is being a miserable bitch and not coming out of her room, sitting on the phone to one of two boyfriends; maybe both. I decided, since you all read about my daily goings on, that I might as well give some background as to where I do my Livejournal magic (i.e. my desk), what I do read when I'm not on LJ, who else occupies my room, things I have collected, and things I study. When I decided to do this post (which I actually started taking the pictures for about 45 mins ago (from now 00:16) (check the clock on the pics), I was thinking that people might maybe ask about something they've seen, so as starting conversation, and also broadening both persons horizons. I don't think I have any chemists on my f-list, so y'all can see what you missed out on, not doing chemistry at university. I couldn't be arsed Photoshopping them. I'm not being graded on my pictures, so as long as they convey what I want them to, which is my "personal space" then I think I have done alright. I'll probably end up deleting this, as it's a little bit loserish, geeky, sad, pathetic and pointless. Anyway, I shall start with my room :-)
^ So this is where the magic happens. Everything within easy reach, and everything meticulously organised. Notice that most of the pictures on the wall are of Ezgi and Matt (plus the one of my mum is prime place). Also note the customary coke can! :-)
Arnold was a birthday present. On his t-shirt, it says "What do you give an IDIOT for their birthday?" and on the back it sayd "A FROG!". Fuck knows where my mum got it, but its amazing, and so befitting. He is my favourite teddy.
Also notice how many language books I have compared to my chemistry books, which is soooo bad of me. Bad, Tom, bad!
^ After Matts exhibition finished, he said I could have some of the pictures, so I took some that are either nice of me (not in a vain, conceited way) and ones of me and my friends (the exhibition was about me (ill explain again in a future post or just ask me)), the hospital pic is when James was in hospital, and is me, Matt and James (on a drip) looking at a lightbox.
^ My windowsill is more like a shrine to my friends than anything else. Notice the time. I don't apologise for the reflection. I'm not going out of my way for 'pretty' pictures, so it doesn't matter if these aren't perfect. Anyway, it adds charm.
^ This is the shelf at the top of my bed, where my head is. The ghost is a night-light if you press his head, but I lost his charger when I moved house. The mole was a gift off Matt, and Matt is in a chicken frame because his pet-name is "chicken".
^ Some of my most important, favourite books! I don't learn Italian and German since secondary school, but the books are there because I am adopting the layout of them (notice they are the same series of books), because I am writing my own grammar books, and I like the layout of these books.
^ Latin and English side-by-side. I found this a wonderful (and entertaining) way to learn Latin.
^ A page from my college years photo album.
^ Another page. These pictures are actually the week before I came to university.
^ Oh, Wonderful, wonderful Chemistry books!
^ If anyone enjoys physical chemistry, they should be studied. I find it boring, pointless, and difficult for the sake of being difficult.
^ I love organic chemistry. I promise you that this isn't as complicated as it looks, and that it does make sense.
^ This I'm not sure I can promise. But this is why being in the sun is good for your skin (so long as you dont burn) [Sunlight on ergosterol gives vitamin d2]
^ Aaaaaaagh! QUANTUM MECHANICAL CHEMISTRY! RUN FOR YOUR FUCKING LIVES KIDDIES!
By the way, all of that just means that an atom spins. !________! for fucks sake.
^ Remember this diagram, kids. You'll be seeing it the rest of your lives. ¬_¬
^ One final word kiddies, If there is a low lying orbital of the correct symmetry.......... ¬_¬ I'm so sure you're all now deciding to do chemistry now. Haha.
Anyway, I hope somebody enjoys this. It's killed an hour and a half for me.

Comments
You probably have three times as many language books as I do. I'm jealous. (I feel a competition brewing.) I love that you have an Icelandic book, and I am now determined to steal it from you. ;]
I like your room, just so you know. There are two important thing to me about houses, and two important things about specific people's houses. Houses need good bathrooms and kitchens, and when I meet someone, I like to see their kitchen and bedroom. So far, I'm impressed. :] My room is a disaster zone right now, cuz I'm packing, or at least pretending to pack. I managed to get all my books into three boxes and my smaller (but bigger than the boxes) laundry basket. Hehe... I'm definitely a bibliophile.
And as for the chemistry, I can -kind of- read the orgo. The rest made my brain hemorrhage a little, I think. My best friend in the whole entire world is majoring in pharmaceutical chemistry, and she has to take p-chem next semester. I'm not jealous. Chemistry seems so complicated. I have had exactly one chemistry in my life. I enjoyed it, but I'm not much of a scientist.
Anyway... I think this is the second longest comment I've ever left on one of your entries. ^_^ Like I said, don't delete this. I'll do one of these for my new room next week.
Incidentally, the Icelandic book is meant to be the best available. It was written in the forties, and includes a grammar, about 200pages of Icelandic prose, and a really comprehensive dictionary. I got it for £18, but for you it would be.... $27 (http://www.amazon.com/Icelandic-Gramma
Organic chemistry is my second love (First = language, third = music), Inorganic is OK, but it can be a bit dull, p-chem is just torture.
And I like long comments anyway, it shows people are paying attention to what I write, which is a VERY big compliment to me.
Orgo was my favourite part of the one chemistry class I had, and I never ever liked physics, so mixing the two doesn't sound happy.
I definitely read all of my friends entries. I started colour coordinating them so I could keep them apart from my communities, which I don't read as religiously. And I love leaving long comments, and getting them, also. Even though my entries aren't as interesting as yours, and usually don't elicit long comments.
And no, you cannot have my Icelandic book. I've not had it long. But I can post you my Xhosa book. I got it (with a CD!) for £3, but I dont want it, fancy it? Just pay postage? ^_^
Aw, shame about not being able to buy books. I'd die.
Aww... fine, I'll try to buy it myself. What's Xhosa? Wow... my computer didn't tell me it's spelled wrong. Go figure.
It's not that I can't buy books, it's that I shouldn't. Doesn't stop me. Like last week when I went to buy my statistics book, and came out with three books in addition to it. Buying books is addicting.
Like your room too:) And huh, how many languages have you studied ? Gnaaah am jealous... :I Because I feel like even my English sucks and the grammar is awful ;F : D
I remember when we had one compulsory chemistry-course in upper secondary school, and I even liked it ( + got a good grade ;> ).. After the exam the teacher even came to talk to me and said I should continue studying chemistry, but my schedule was already full :P
Hah and my MUM loves chemistry, her dream is to study it in university...
Instead, I HATE physics. God, it's so damn stupid because I can't it : D
Hmmmm and why to delete this entry ? Don't, it's lovely !
I did this a while ago with my office and the bag I used to carry around (my husband and mum bought me a 'professor' bag for my birthday :D ). It was also my first go with Flickr image tags. SO FUN!
I won't be taking pictures of my room just yet then... The Powers That Be have decided that today's a good day to empty the attic, meaning that I am once again on the laptop downstairs... and also that my room needs cleaning again. ¬_¬
I didn't understand a thing about your chemistry books -- although, I can tell you that the final picture's text is written in FF Meta Pro; the first, second and third images' main text is in Minion (with captions to images in FF Meta Pro and diagrams in Univers); and the fourth image's text is written in Times.
:D
Winnie Ille Pu made me smile. :)
I might -- might -- follow suit with this and do the same thing, assuming I a) get my room back any time soon, b) re-tidy it up, and c) can be arsed to do it once it's finished. :)
How do you know those?
Well, I shall be looking forward to a similar post from you, should you decide to do one :)
I know them because I've got them on my system; that website I showed you the other day has got it all! :)
It's a shame that there's not any other form of it that's easily available. :/
But thanks for trying despite my clumsiness anyway :)
Have you deleted it or just said that you've read the messages?
Never mind. here it is. :)
OMFGZ How many /-u:/ rhymes?
I rarely work in bed these days, since I try my best to separate bed activities (like SLEEPING) and other things, but if I do, or if I slouch on the couch, I just go into this lethargic semi-choma :/
I like all the posters and photos in your room.
I'm redecorating my own room right now and tomorrow I should get in 40+ photos to put in new frames.
I love posts like this. Keep them coming.
Btw, are you redecorating because of all the work done on your house recently?
I'm going to take some pre-finished pics maybe tomorrow.
I'm excited, because everywhere I go up here in the mtns I see things I want in my room. I'm really into birds, and birds have become a popular deco. item here, so I got two little brown birds that I'm going to make "enchanting, like they're from some magical garden-i'm kind of obsessed over the movie "Secret Garden") and I bought two glass, star-shaped, lanterns that hold votive candles -i'm going to hang them above my bed.
my room is going to be odd, but i think i can make it work - i love seeing things come together indesign
oh, the reason behind re-doing my room
i've had my own room for awhile, but when i was in college, and coming back home every so often, i just found it easier to bunk in my sister's room for a couple nights at a time, and then it just transitioned to us sharing her room, but we get on each others nerves in there. all the remodeling just motivated me to take my room back, especially now that i can paint how i want to, plus, it will give me a place to set up a craft/art area
